A Day of Team Building
When we gathered togethered In the sunlit gardens , it was not because of the sun . Every person could have experienced it in their home. We came together because it is good for a Revolutionary Family to do so. We gathered together on the 5th of October for a Team Building Activity as Volta. This happened at Karura Forest where we took a walk and settled at a Picnic. It is amazing how one's initiative can impact and build on more change in the society, I mean, look at Karura Forest. Wangari Mathai deserved her flowers.
Prologue
A chitty chat initiated by Bahati Boaz caught the attention of the Family and got heated. The views came as hard as they come. Trust me folks, this was some UN Nuclear Nukes Negotiations kind of Talk. Is suicide in some cases warranted? Is it the only dignified exit for some? Is it selfish or courageous to do so? Such were the lead questions. Agwaa made her point clear that she wouldn't lose a tear for someone that designed their own exit. We agreed that a support system is essential. It was noted that a number of people don't have it in them to talk their feelings and problems in a Society where everything seems predetermined. To this Brother Mutinda shared on a project that he's working on where people can open up anonymous, I mean ain't that amazing? He's on this with his fellow Tech Wizard Joseph Gift. Our CEO Zuuh gave a way forward as we wait on the roll out of the Program by Mutinda, "You need to Courageously take what life throws at you. " Make lemonade out ofyour lemons I presumed.
Activities of the Day
We had been joined by new members, it was made known to them what Volta is. They all loved it. They couldn't have been in a better Family. In light of what happens at Volta, we split into two and had each team tackle a topic.
Agwaa, Marion, Mutinda and Ekiru tackled HIV and Aids and the misinformation and stigma that comes with it. They did an incredible job and performed a world class skit. Mworia, Miss Boaz, Mercy and Muriuki took on Dysfunctional Families and their contribution to Drug and Substance abuse and the associated disruption of the Children's Social life. They too made a skit. The skits were great that we signed a lot of T shirts. I ain't kidding. They all wanted to know about it.
